Support The Food Court Social

All proceeds from the Food Court Social fundraising event will go to support George Brown College's Augmented Education Program. In partnership with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), this innovative, tuition-free program helps those with a history of mental illness or addiction overcome barriers to education and training, and helps them prepare for, find and maintain employment.

At the 2018 Food Court Social, the George Brown College Foundation employees had the pleasure of meeting and working with Mohamed Fahmy. A recent graduate from the GBC Augmented Education program, Mohamed chose to volunteer at the foundation’s annual fundraiser to give back to the program that changed his life. Mohamed shared his thoughts on the Augmented Education program and what it has meant to his life.

“The Culinary Skills, Augmented Education program taught me a lot about myself and helped me recognize my skills and potential for growth. The soft and hard skills gained through this program have led to positive change in my life. I now have a part-time job that I enjoy and am pursuing post-secondary education so that I can continue to improve my life and the lives of others. I am forever grateful to the GBC Foundation and the Augmented Education program for giving me the chance to make a change, as it has renewed my happiness and confidence in life.”
